What is a NOVENA?

A church bell tower with a cross on top stands against a blue sky, partially framed by blooming branches with pink flowers.

A novena is a special prayer said (most typically) for nine consecutive days to obtain special graces, to implore special favors, or to make special petitions.
The word novena is derived from the Latin “novem”, meaning nine.

Some believe that urgent petitions can be offered through a one day novena, such as with the Novena to the Infant of Prague (infant Jesus), the novena is said on the hour for nine consecutive hours.

Below you will find the novenas for both the Infant of Prague and our patron St. Jude.
